Why Our Olive Oil?

1) It's the real deal: Never worry about not receiving real extra virgin olive oil. With Oliva Dorado, you can be confident you are receiving 100% organic extra virgin olive oil, never mixed with cheaper olive oils or seed oils. Oliva Dorado is produced at the beginning of the harvest and once the olives are picked off the trees, they are immediately transported to the mill to be pressed into olive oil. This maximizes the freshness and the health benefits!
2) Incredibly Healthy: Extra virgin olive oil is the cornerstone of the Mediterranean Diet, which has long been connected with health and longevity. This association is often because of the polyphenols in extra virgin olive oil. Polyphenols function as potent antioxidants and benefit health, in part, because they combat oxidative stress. This is a type of stress within the body that damages lipids, proteins, and DNA in a way that contributes to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and dementia.
3) Gut Friendly: Extra virgin olive oil is incredibly anti-inflammatory and is highly beneficial for the gut microbiome. The antioxidants in EVOO, known as polyphenols, act as prebiotics in the gut. They increase the healthy bacteria in the gut, contributing to a healthier and more diverse gut microbiome, which can promote gut healing. This helps digestive health and can help treat IBS, GERD, and other gut symptoms.
4) Single Estate: Many olive oils are blended together in large factories with olives and oils from multiple different farms (and even countries!) Every bottle of Oliva Dorado is made from 100% organic arbequina olives. These olives are grown, harvested, and cared for year-round on the same farm. From harvesting to bottling, everything takes place on-site, to remove any risk of bad actors contaminating the product.
5) Taste it for yourself! We recommend the first thing you do when receiving the product is to taste it. Take a shot or taste of it straight, without mixing it with any food. You should feel a peppery aftertaste on your throat, almost like a burning sensation. This is due to an anti-inflammatory compound called oleocanthal. Oleocanthal is one of the most significant health-promoting molecules in extra virgin olive oil. Over 300 peer-reviewed scientific studies implicate oleocanthal as a cancer protective, anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, antimicrobial, and neuroprotective agent.
6) Brain Health: A recent observational study of over 100,000 people found that people who consumed *just* half a tablespoon of olive oil daily had a 28% reduced risk of dying from dementia. Olive oil's beneficial role in cognitive health may be due to its rich content of monounsaturated fats. This can promote neurogenesis, which is the growth of brain cells. It also contains Vitamin E and polyphenols, where the antioxidants can reduce oxidative stress. This is why extra virgin olive oil is also linked with supporting healthy memory and brain function.
